Nice regards I'm interested for Friday, since there will be nice sunny weather, if conditions are already suitable for an attempt on Triglav summit (of course with all necessary gear; helmet crampons ice axe harness) please advise

Why complicate? You go up, if conditions are OK you climb to the top, if not you go back...

On Friday to Triglav? I'm interested in the opinion and, of course, snow conditions for the attempt on Triglav, of course with proper gear, thanks

On Monday, 29.10.07 I was on Goličica. On the highest peaks there's already quite some snow, winter conditions. If you want a pic from Kredarica check it on the environmental agency site (arso) or directly on hribi.net-webcams. Regards, Mare

Yeah, like this: today I managed to get to Mali Triglav from Pokljuka. Gotta say the weather was phenomenal, everything was visible, but the wind was desperate, blowing very strongly especially at Dom Planika, so dress really well, and very carefully down the snow because it's very crumbly in the sun, becomes too soft. Good luck.

Roni, you had much better conditions than me, who tried to get up on 7 September.

Was anyone up there in the last week? Or at Kredarica? What's the snow like? Is it enough for touring?

why are you all scaring here... I am going up tomorrow, because I'll welcome new year up there... Going without crampons, helmet, ice axe and so on.. Just check the weather and that's the main thing.. If you go up in bad weather you're an idiot... Because then even ten ice axes and crampons won't help...

Ice can be there even in good weather and the gear you listed is mandatory. Well anyway those who think like that can't even get to Triglav.

I suggest you take someone with you who has been to Triglav several times in winter. Maybe a mountain guide or an experienced mountaineer who knows the dangers on ascent and descent.

how much snow does triglav have

At Kredarica it's 2m, on Triglav it's hard to measure because the wind blows it away and piles it into cornices.
