To Triglav?

andi2 – whether it's interesting to you from a mountaineering perspective or not has no connection with economic logic, which could easily swallow up another hut under Triglav. I've also been avoiding this area for over 10 years, but it's clear to me that it will always be some kind of centre of our alpine tourism. I'm not advocating new huts, but I'm sorry that politics won at the Italian station. Lojze just finished the job and turned off the light. ..and I agree with the others. It's downright incredible how Lojz brought this to its current state. Absolutely everyone stuck their heads in the sand like an ostrich. Fej....

Well, I'm still that fossil who remembers from 1964, when as a fourteen-year-old I was first at this location, the ruined Morbergne. I don't want to discuss whether the politics at that time thought (if it did), or whether it makes sense to restore it or not. The fact now remains that an irreparable mistake was made (it is still possible to correct it) by those responsible at the time. The location is anyway phenomenal.

I also remember very well this barracks, which at that time was still under a metal roof and in very good condition.
It was 42 years ago, when I also went for the first time on the Bamberg path to Triglav. Later a few more times and always there was less and less of the mighty building, as a result of planned demolition.
Actually incredible, how they tolerated the arbitrariness of an individual in the middle of TNP, therefore it would be necessary to demolish the neighboring bunker (bivak) as well, or some other object from the time of the unjust border, which are for example even converted into mountain huts.
Or paths, mule tracks, roads, that were created then.
If we just look a little towards our W and N neighbors, they know how to create new stories with the preservation of similar objects...

The SPP itself is also politically conceived, if we are already talking about politics. At least Kenda writes so in his book - that the SPP was not made into a circular route, because there was no desire for hikers to discover the horrors of Kočevje.

Most passers-by don't even know that it's not a structure named Morbegna, but Caserme Rifugio Vittorio Emanuele III di Monte Tricorno (Triglav mountain barracks (king) Vittorio Emanuele the third). Morbegna was in another place and not even a stone remains of it, the location is even hard to determine.

I agree Daam. In this reply I only responded to the invitation regarding hut reservation. Slovenians don't need additional huts, at least that's how I see it (everyone except small children can go up and down in one day). But if they want to increase the influx of tourists, then of course they should build it as soon as possible.
And yes, these two stories are partially intertwined.
Lojz as some kind of social problem of Jesenice, who simply decided on this way of life (life trauma, if I recall correctly once?). Since he is an excellent connoisseur of these parts from the time when his attic still worked properly, of course he had the quiet 'leave him alone' of the gray heads of local associations. And the awkward? remark by JJ after some climb of Čopova, that there is still space up there for another hut. According to him, just stirring shit, instead of enjoying what he came for. And what could be nicer - Lojz got a job for a few years, locals didn't have to fear politics or social services at their door. The building, well it was a bit dilapidated and actually at least partially fascist.
Huts are anyway some trace of the past. Except for food service or emergency overnight they are passé for me at least. Who will still squeeze among stinking and snoring old men surrounding you in some attic spaces. No, thanksnasmeh

Incredible, how we "Slovenčeki", who consider ourselves mountaineers, "change" the purpose of the topic into a completely different story.jezenzmedenmrk pogled

Mosovnik, if some comments here don't interest you, you can calmly ignore them. There is no need to complain about it.

@asdf/introduce yourself!!!jezenI, a 76-year-old, will also have no problem responding to your answervelik nasmeh. Namely, when in those times we "kolovratili" as mountain enthusiasts around there, we were proud of everything that our pre-war predecessors "left" us and you, it seems, definitely do not take into account some facts.????jezenjezenjezen
