Hello,

this year we as a family focused a bit more on mid-mountains and lower high-mountains and since May did about 20 hikes (from Krim, Nanos, Snežnik, to Kladivo, Begunjščica, Vajnež) with ascents averaging between 1000 and 1500m, for pleasant full-day trips.

Now we want to continue also with some winter hike, maybe to Golake or some peak on Nanos, to Dom na Kofcah or Dom na Blegošu. There's a lot written about proper equipment for such hikes, but still almost no info on what footwear is suitable for children, and where to get it.

Crampons for snow and icy paths are available from size 36 up. Children's crampons (size 30) aren't found in stores. Maybe smaller 4-point crampons are suitable for kids, since not limited by length? Is that safe or even necessary? Are there any special children's hiking boots mainly for snowy conditions?

Thanks for any advice.

Thanks and best regards

Has anyone checked the path to Vojkova koča from Gradišče past Hieronym? In valley where trees along path, probably no ice, higher not so much trees to fall, more meadows.

Also thinking about path from Vipava past Abrama and on to Vojkova koča - has anyone tried there?

Which road to Katarina is cleared? What's the condition of the one going from Podutik and over Toško Čelo?

well, yesterday we set out to walk it fully, but couldn't - because of Golovec. it went almost to the top, climbing over trees that are more annoying than dangerous, on the last bends so much fallen that it's really impossible to pass.

Best thanks - I was counting on that rain to wash our misfortune a bit. Today we decided to go to the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship and we're just setting off, Grmada next week then if all's OK. Thanks again!

Hi - what are the conditions on the Katarina-Grmada path? We really miss "our" frequent walk on this path and our souls are raining for a long time and the city grayness here in Ljubljana. How does it look, when will the path be safe enough to go again?
