In winter holy rule: crampons + ice axe and no other combinations. No crampons and poles or little crampons and poles. How will you stop in case of a fall with poles? You won't. So the only rule is ICE AXE AND CRAMPONS (real ones)!!!

No tour carried out by PZS guides is at participants' own responsibility. That doesn't exist - the guide is responsible for the whole group of participants from departure on the tour, during the tour itself and up to the end or return home. So don't talk off the cuff if you don't know the matters. I tell you from my own experiences, because I am a guide myself and the head of the guiding section in my club.

Winter boot must be more compact, must have stiffer sole or reinforced sole for walking with crampons. Soft boots are not good for snow walking especially with crampons.
Before deciding to buy, you need to go to hiking stores and try various boot models, because those that look good don't necessarily mean they will actually be good.
