Thanks for the answers. Actually I didn't ask how, but where nasmeh Not confident enough in you to tackle the repair myself.

Hello,
on my really 15-year-old Alpina Peak shoes, the sole has come off the front of the left boot.
Can someone advise where this could be repaired? Especially, whether it's worth repairing such old shoes.

This year I bought Fitwell Plutone. Nostalgically I wanted leather stitched mountain boots. Bought them in EVT store in Idrija. I have size around 43 so I buy mountain boots from 44 up. From Italy they ordered just for me sizes 44, 44.5 and 45 so I could try all and finally decided for 44.5. Really wide toe box although for my wide feet (in Alpina Peak my feet are all tingling from tightness) barely enough. Otherwise boots are super, though compared to modern ones maybe a bit stiff, now that they are well broken in not so much anymore. Didn't get wet!!!! despite hours of trudging, but I scraped the leather nicely on rocks and scree so they are much lighter than when bought nasmeh Definitely can only recommend Fitwell - and EVT store too!

One option would be Alpina Peak. I have them for heavier and winter tours. Super boots, but I have quite wide feet and they are too narrow for me, so after long tours my feet are completely tingling. Otherwise Scarpa apparently has a very narrow last.

Apparently gotta defend why my hiking boots disintegrated only after 5 years. These McKinley shoes used only for easy hikes, mushroom picking etc. Rocks never saw, snow only on really easy hikes. Problem is disintegrated inside!!! completely, while outside (except detached rubber) completely ok, sole esp. Other hiking boots thrown away till now mainly cuz sole worn smooth, not cuz disintegrated.

I had McKinley hiking boots. Outside they were fully leather and I greased them with seal grease - soon after starting to grease the front protective rubber started detaching, and the glued sole on the sides too. So that grease dissolves glue, obviously completely true.

But true, the boots proved very low quality, as inside they completely disintegrated and I threw them away after 5 years.

Classic gojzarji. Hello,

I'd like some advice on classic gojzarji. I'm buying gojzarji like I remember they made 30 years ago (all leather, sewn...). On the internet I found that companies like Fitwell, Meindl, Steinkogler, Hanwag make them - especially the last three are quite expensive.

But I found a page of a Slovenian manufacturer who makes classic gojzarji to order. Here's the link:
http://www.cevljar.eu/gojzarji/434288-gojzarji-6750.html

I'm interested in what you think about these Slovenian gojzarji, should I dare to buy them, what do you think about how long they'll last, does anyone have experiences with this manufacturer and has anyone heard of them.

Best regards to all!
