Does anyone perhaps know where it's worth going to Velika Baba from (Žaga, Učja...). What's the path like and is it worth overcoming such an elevation difference (almost 1800 m). What do you recommend then? Best regards to all.

On Saturday I climbed to Mrzli vrh from the village of Krn. To the Pretovč alpine pasture it's nice on dry ground, from there to the summit there's quite a lot of snow. You can follow the track or choose your own path. The view was magnificent, I didn't meet anyone on the whole path except three heroes on motocross bikes???!!!, which you generally meet on many hiking trails before any hiker.

Anyone who's been to Rombon knows it's impossible to get up there in one hour and fifteen minutes.

True, but I wouldn't go to Italy, haven't seen descriptions of accesses from our side, so I wanted some additional information.

From the village of Krn to Mrzli vrh it's a ca. 1.5 to 2 hour hike (depending on fitness). The path is marked and easy to follow all the time and not too strenuous. Actually you ascend gradually to planina Pretovč, only from there ca. 200 meters of elevation a bit steeper. The path is very suitable also for a family trip.
