"dprapr Yes, some 100-year-old novelty..."
... here we are talking from the first post about SPORT VIA FERRATA!
P.S. if giving link up there, it would be good next time at least to read to the end what it says!

I agree with Primož!
On the other hand, every novelty always brings some discontent and some approval, over the years the matter settles.
It's similar with bivouacs (modernly shaped),
even Aljaž long ago had similar problems nasmeh

janez73 that's exactly what this forum is for, at least I think so, sharing tips, experiences, opinions....! It's not for insulting those who think differently, at least I think so! Even someone who only loves feratas might stop at the hut at Zelenica, drink and eat something, and maybe contribute to the PD cash register, which then goes to developing the mountaineering center, path maintenance, etc., etc... and the circle is successfully closed. What I want to say, if we are tolerant to each other, work together, only then can we succeed! Abroad is a good indicator and teacher for us!

SamoK ... if you can use the day still somehow differently, from there you have nice mountaineering routes, and also to Zelenica you need to walk. Ferrata you can use only as an intermediate link! And if in this case you are on top of Sp. Plota, at least I think that you are in hills or mountains. Even indoor sport climbing when you climb warm and dry, you could call it that, but you can successfully use the knowledge then in rock!
Anyway some overload themselves too much with all around you! Let people do what they want, as they don't bother or burden you with it!"
If I don't have a cow let the neighbor's die too!" - our national sport.

Add my opinion. That in ferratas where pegs big steps where rock rugged (Cjajnik,Zelezna Kapla...), there climbing shoes don't help much even if E or F. First time hear that traders advertise climbing shoes for use in ferratas! This ferrata first here where no such aids this ferrata has couple smooth vertical limestone slabs with very small steps thumb size and here they can be big help of course if not put all work on arms!
That's of course my opinion everyone has right to decide himself how equipped goes to ferratas. Mainly let it be safe! nasmeh

Via ferrata surely the hardest here. But as others wrote, with strategy and some resting it can be "tamed". Recommend climbing shoes or at least low approach shoes (Wildfire, Five Ten Camp...) with good rubber!

Alpina Lhotse is a very comfortable shoe, the sole is one of the better ones, especially grip in snow, holds very long without soaking. However, it bothers me how "sloppily" they made the rubber edging; it's so thin that after 30 km it already tore at two ends, on pairs it peeled off. I'm taking it to warranty to see how they'll fix it. I think that for such a shoe it should be a bit thicker, especially "stitched" along the edge.

Has anyone maybe already tried Garmont Tower Plus GTX? Thanks
