For approach to the route I suggest directly along the dry gully already from where the gravel pit starts (if you don't park at the cargo cableway station).

Green arrows are no longer visible on the route. At least the first and third or maybe I'm weird The second one showing the passage between slabs in the upper part you can easily miss because the row of bolts follows all the way to the top of the slab.

From the saddle yesterday (1 week later) it looked steep. But someone can check closer.

Today four went to the top. The snow is fantastic all the way out of the glacier (especially for skis). The chimney is icy, so you need to go around.

But today (19.3) at 18:00 they closed all accesses (by car or on foot) to Planica or Tamar due to jumps and it will be so until Sunday evening...

Don't know why it put the pic in landscape... If admin can fix

Was yesterday. In Slovenian gully there's snow. Biggest jump (upper constriction in pic) partially iced. Can bypass it on right or even more right over rocks

Today found in the north Triglav wall glasses with blue temples. If someone misses them send me a private message

For this year (still) I don't know but below start there's always glacier for which I'd recommend both, since snow is icy. If choosing I'd pick crampons over ice axe.

Tuesday 30.07.2013 after work we set off from Ljubljana: Helena, Aleš, Dario and Gregor. Parking at Lucknerhaus and quick path to Stüdlhütte, where excellent dinner followed (recommend!). Across Teischnitzkees glacier roped up as four, then on the ridge roped up as two. The ridge path is entirely dry. Followed descent over Kleineglockner (recommend crampons on as soon as you descend to the saddle), past Erzherzog-Johann-hütte and on across Ködnitzkees glacier to the valley.
