@maks, me too, I'm for it! With pleasure and satisfaction I'll contribute so we can soon drink that beer you mentioned in the rebuilt hut at Okrešelj.......or Korošica.

Thanks for the congratulations! No, I wouldn't dare to go to the King alone even in my thoughts.

I apologize! I absolutely do not want and do not intend to underestimate the ridge. I just wanted to say that it is by no means as they described it to me and that walking (carefully, of course) on it caused me no psychological difficulties whatsoever.

Dear mountain friends, I, bbugari1, Becar, janezs73, redbull, hribov.ec, dprapr and darinka4! I would like to thank you for the warm and encouraging words you bestowed on me here on the forum in mid-May this year regarding the ascent to Jalovec, which I was so afraid of that I couldn't decide at all to go for it and you filled me with the much-needed courage with pictures and words. Last Wednesday I finally made it. On Tuesday afternoon I set off with two more friends from Trenta to the Shelter under Špik, where we overnighted and headed to the summit the next morning. I won't write about the tour, since you all know the King much better than me. It was strenuous but unforgettable. And the most incredible is that I crossed the ridge as if on a walk. It didn't seem anything special to me. When I was across, even I couldn't believe it was already behind me. redbull, you were completely right when you wrote: "There are no difficulties on the ridge, so it has no cable either." Thanks again to all! Hope I didn't forget anyone! Without your help I would still only dream about the King.

Does anyone know how the Northern Path to Sabotin is? Is the cycling path towards Plave open?

Thanks Ivan! I'm very grateful for your encouraging words. Very grateful! I'd like to thank once again all who understood my writing and responded to it. Mountain lovers are (you are) apparently really something special! Always understanding and always ready to help. Thanks! In August this year I hope to make a historic step for me. I'll step on the summit of our King!

Words of some people who described the tour to Jalovec to me as one of the hardest in our mountains.

Nice, nice, thanks for the pics, comforting words and tips. I am very grateful to all who responded to my plea. And somehow lighter at heart because I imagined that ridge worse than you presented it to me. Still not fully rid of the fear I carried for so many years, but I'm sure I'll beat it. Thanks again!

Dear female hikers! Dear hikers! I hope you won't laugh at my writing, which I assure you I write extremely seriously. I started SPP in 2012 at 50 years and little by little got almost to the end. I still miss three two-thousanders that I'd like to conquer this year. With Razor and Kočna I hope there won't be problems, but I'm afraid of Jalovec. Very afraid! A few years ago I met a hiker in the hut at Dolič and got into a conversation with him. The talk came to Jalovec too. He said he'd been on it that very summer and described the ascent as very dangerous, especially warning me about the narrow precipitous ridge right below the summit. He said it's only about 70 cm wide with no way to grab anything. That conversation was really "balm for my soul", since I got so infected with fear that I just can't set off on that tour. I asked a few more hikers about that ridge and they all described it similarly. And now my request! Please, all who have a REAL PICTURE, attach it so I can finally see what that so dangerous ridge looks like. Please give info on how long the mentioned part is and how wide it actually is! I'll be very grateful for understanding and reply and pictures. Let me say at the end that I'm not afraid of cables, I enjoy them, and so far I've been to Mali Mojstrovka via Hanzova path, to Krn via Silva Korena path, to Mangart via Slovenian path, on ferrata Gradiška tura, to Peč via climbing path, and in Dolomites on ferratas Ra Pegna and Ra Buela. Nowhere did I have major problems, but what can you do, everything stops at thoughts of Jalovec and that damned exposed ridge. Please, help!

Thanks for the warning, jax, which I'll gratefully take into account and cross out mihael007's suggestion. My husband and I love hiking, but on not too dangerous, well-maintained and protected paths and trails.

Big thanks for the suggestion mihael007. I'm a bit scared of Jalovec, I'd rather conquer it with someone who's been there before. Anyway, my husband and I have it planned.
