Starting point: Rum railway station (568 m)
Access: From the starting point, where you can arrive by train or park the car in front of the Rumer Hof hotel, the path turns north straight into the village of Rum. We follow Bahnhofstraße until the intersection where we turn right into Schulstraße and after 200m left into Langer Graben road. We follow this road through the village of Rum until it meets Finkenberg road. At the end of Finkenberg road we notice the signpost Vintlalm-Pfeishütte. We follow the nice forest path number 2/3 and after half an hour reach a spring where we can refill drinking water. After another 10 min we arrive at Garzanhof farm, where the path turns right (all nicely signposted). The path winds through the forest. The next junction is at Kiechelberg junction, where path number 3 branches right to Thaurer Alm, we go left on the forest road, where after a few meters our path branches right (number 2). Then follows a steep 500 elevation meters, through the forest, across Garzanmahd pasture to Vintlalm hut (1568m). From the hut onwards the path winds through bushes and shrubs to Kreuzjöchl saddle (2121m). The path is signposted with 2.5h. To our left branches the path to Rumer Spitze; ahead of us, towards the northeast, we see Kleine Stempeljochspitze. Straight north we see the Sonntagskar cirque.
I - Hintere Bachofenspitze: Below us is Pfeishütte hut, descend there (approx. 200 elevation meters). A little below the hut branches the path to Sonntagskar cirque - signpost Sonntagskarspitze (2.5h), Hintere Bachofenspitze (2.5h). First the path winds through rhododendrons until we step to the place from where the view into Sonntagskar cirque opens and paths branch to Sonntagkarspitze or Hintere Bachofenspitze. We follow the marked pathless terrain nasmeh. There are enough markers, but no trodden path. The path winds over grass northwards until we reach scree, over which we must painfully step on a well visible track to the wall. The entrance to the wall is marked with a large red mark on the rock. The path through the wall is not secured, and has spots where you need to handle climbing up to grade 2. When we step to the top of the wall, we stand on the ridge between Roßkopf (towards south) and Hintere Bachofenspitze (towards north). From here only 100 elevation meters to the summit (2668m). The summit is isolated, as the summit book there is from 2004 and far from full. The path is almost entirely in the sun and no water on this section. I descend the same path to Pfeishütte.
II - Kleine Stempeljochspitze: From Pfeishütte winds a highway to Stempeljoch saddle. From there leads a path on the south side through grass to the summit Kleine Stempeljochspitze (2529m). The path is not always clearly visible, but terrain doesn't allow getting lost. In the rocky summit part markers are again very good. Also on this path no water and path exposed to sun all the time. I descend the same path to Stempeljoch saddle, where it is possible to cross on an unmarked path to Kreuzjöchl notch and from there descend to Neu Rum.
Neu Rum (568m) - Kreuzjöchl (2121m) - Pfeishütte (1922m) - Hintere Bachofenspitze (2668m) - Pfeishütte (1922m) - Kleine Stempeljochspitze (2529m) - Stempeljoch (2215m) - Kreuzjöchl (2121m) - Neu Rum (568m).
The route, in terms of elevation gain (3000m), length (~27km), as well as external influences (sun, no water), is a pleasure for every mountain lover nasmeh

Rumer Spitze
Starting point: Rum railway station (570m)
From the starting point, where we can arrive by train or park the car in front of the Rumer Hof hotel, the path turns north straight into the village of Rum. We follow Bahnhofstraße until we reach an intersection where we turn right into Schulstraße and after 200m left into Langer Graben road. We follow this road through the village of Rum until it meets Finkenberg road. At the end of Finkenberg road we notice the signpost Vintlalm-Pfeishütte. We follow the nice forest path number 2/3 and arrive after half an hour at a spring where we can refill drinking water. After another 10 min we arrive at Garzanhof farm, where the path turns right (all well marked with signposts). The path winds through the forest. The next junction is at Kiechelberg junction, where path number 3 branches right to Thaurer Alm, we go left on the forest road, where after a few meters our path branches right (number 2). There follow steep 500 elevation meters, through forest, across Garzanmahd pasture to Vintlalm hut (1568m). From the hut the path winds through shrubbery and bushes to Kreuzjöchl saddle. The path is marked with 2 1/2 h. If we are at the saddle looking north we notice to the west the track, our path, through shrubbery left upwards. The branch is not marked, but with plenty of care the junction can be found. A few meters above the shrubbery the markings appear and from there upwards the path to the summit is well marked. The first trouble is already soon at the start, when one needs to climb the gully upwards. It must be mentioned that the entire climbing path is unsecured. Whoever finds this gully too much is well advised to turn back. After the gully follows careful walking on scree terrain towards the ridge. Soon we reach the fore-summit Rumer Spitze, where the second tricky spot awaits us. First one needs to climb the gully and then a few more meters up the same. Difficulties do not exceed second climbing grade. After the adventure we rise a few more meters to the ridge and above us spot the cross - summit Rumer Spitze. The view from the top is fantastic. From the town Innsbruck, across over 3000m high mountains in the heart of the Alps and surrounding Karwendel peaks a mountain paradise opens to the mountaineer. Whoever still has not had enough can descend along the western ridge of Rumer Spitze towards Arzler Scharte, for me it was enough, because also descent along the eastern ridge demands care to the end. Then again descent to Vintlalm hut for juice and pleasant talk with the host.
Mentioned times are only those stated on signposts. Curiosity of this approach is that no elevation meter needs to be descended. Starting point Rumer Hof (562m) - Garzanhof (870m)- Kiechlberg (1028m) - Vintlalm (1587m) - Kreuzjöchl (2121m) - Rumer Spitze (2454m)

The feeling of danger is subjective.
The condition of the path could be entered on the PZS web portal.
But the information should be posted at more than one place, which is only visible if you go directly from the direction of Ravenska Kočna. Also at the top of Križ there was no information about the disrepair of the path.

I went yesterday along the ferrata from Ledine to Koroška Rinka and was really surprised that it's officially disbanded. I didn't see the sign at the cable car station, maybe because it was still dark or maybe it's no longer there. Also at Kranjska koča it didn't say the path was closed. Only at one of the junctions towards Savinjska sedla there was a red paper with a warning that the path is no longer officially supervised and use is at your own risk. At the next junction again without warning... Since the PZS website also didn't say the path was closed, I went along it anyway. Problems are only near the top and at least one spot is seriously problematic because it's slightly overhanging and without wire or peg you can't get through. After this first critical point, the pegs are pulled out at almost all wires, but with some climbing knowledge it's possible to do the path to the top without using the protections.
Since I was completely in the zone, I forgot to take pictures of the damaged path...
Does anyone know since when the protections have been in such bad condition or if it's officially disbanded (if at all), as I know the path has always been threatened with damaged protections in the past.

Hello. Wondering if it's possible to reach Montaž via Lojtra without winter gear?
regards

Winter fairytale...
Yesterday dad and I headed to Ravenska Kočna. Already at parking we saw warning that path to Češka koča is closed. Unfortunately no date on the note, so don't know if forgotten or still valid. So we skipped original tour and turned to Kranjska koča. Wanted path through gorge, but from below no branch or marks to climbing start, though I hiked it before when closed. So took Slovenian path. From Kranjska koča on path under snow or ice at start. To Jezersko sedlo in shade, snow hard. From saddle to Ledinski Peak snow sinking. About 25-30cm from saddle on. Views fantastic. Valley not much due to 'clouds' but sweetened the tour more. Down through gorge. Path through gorge well secured, branch clear top to bottom. Bottom same issue, no marked path from gorge exit to Slovenian approach.
On ascent saw in snow paws of some big animal. Paw size like our 30kg dog, print similar. Trail clear 'leading' us mid-path to Jezersko sedlo and on to Savinjsko sedlo. Now wondering with dad which animal makes such big tracks. Since first that day (or days) no other shoe prints, so suspect not dog.

We did the tour with my brother on 14.8. in great weather. No snow on the path. Whenever the path goes up it's steep without sparing meters. On one of the climbs the marks are very poor, so you have to follow the trail carefully. The river was easy to cross, of course also because it didn't have much water. The ferrata is in perfect condition. The tour is wild and solitary, wonderful. We descended to Planina Pecol.
