Now just this. Mr. Sašo, I inquired at the Hunting Association of Slovenia about whether a hunter can shoot my dog. They replied: "In no case may a dog be shot or otherwise put down. The law says so!" Next time please don't spread lies. Best regards.

I'll gladly go to Gmajnice if you arrange with my boss that I walk dogs during working hours.nasmeh

I know I'm stubborn, but I want to get to the bottom of things. Well, if you're so kind, please check at home and write when you have time; if it's hard for you (since you have everything at hand at home) I'll confirm it myself and look further.

How adjusted? The law I read and studied is the Hunting and Wildlife Act where nothing says that a hunter or game warden can shoot a dog if chasing game etc. Maybe I missed something so I won't claim it's not there, I'm going to reread everything from the start to check. If anyone knows another law where it might be written, please give info; I want to respect the law so I want to know what the laws say, what I can and cannot do.
regards

Tom, I'd ask you to send me a link or at least the exact title of that law so I can read it, since unfortunately I haven't found it anywhere despite searching everywhere.

That's true, dogs trained for service purposes or defense training master this method (so when you throw a sausage the dog must stay put until you give the command to eat it) but also in another "discipline" of training the dog must stay in place until you allow it to retrieve the dummy (retrieve exercise) - rescue. In standard obedience per program A and B-Bh there's no retrieve exercise, so most dogs don't know to stay calm.

One more thing, I'm just reading an excellent article in yesterday's Jana magazine on pages 44 and 45. I agree with the article and especially suggest to dog non-lovers that they read the red box where they advise how to behave and act so the dog doesn't misunderstand you and bite you.

Although I said I won't post anymore I just tell you that I inquired about everything. So you don't lecture me too much they from VURS replied: "public place is thus every space accessible to everyone where there is or expected larger number of people. By this regulation forests, mountains etc. are space where dog is allowed off leash. "
Regarding picking up droppings in mountains unfortunately didn't reply, now waiting for TNP reply to explain (since not written in their law), how is with dogs bathing in mountain lakes. Also in forest I can have dog off leash at will but must keep eye on it, if my dog damages game then (logically) I answer for it.

Nice greetings to allnasmeh

I'll just write this, because anyway I won't convince you and you won't convince me of anything.

Someone wrote: I think that in all this debate we should still distinguish between dog owners who have their animals well-trained, from those who show off with a "sharp" dog in the sense of "what can you do to me, huh?".

Somehow I conclude that this is aimed at me, I don't show off with my dog at all and you can't just conclude from my posts that I have a dangerous dog. I have a dog that belongs to family and very friendly dogs (FCI 8) and on top of that it's trained.

Have a nice day everyonejeziknasmeh

Someone wrote that the hunter can shoot my dog. It's true, but my dog never walks more than a few steps ahead of menasmeh Too bad, right, when I have such an obedient and trained dog and when I'm so "arrogant and think they can't do anything to me". When I know that they can do something to me in every situation, then I won't say that anymore.
Statistical data on how many forest animals dogs have killed doesn't move me at all, since my dog didn't do that, I really don't care.
As I already said, if I break the law, I will also answer for damage, action... until then, don't worry about me and my actionsnasmeh because you won't answer for them, so leave me alone just as I leave you alonenasmeh

Dear, they really can't do anything to me as long as I follow the rules; when I break the rules, I'll pay the fine too. Until then, you can just "jerk off here". I have the dog on a leash where it's prescribed and also where it's not, but there is livestock nearby, sheep, screaming children etc. I respect many things; sometimes, when I see that someone is afraid of the dog (then the dog senses very well that you are afraid of it and will want to come to you even sooner than if you pass calmly without fear and glances from the corner of your eye at the dog), I step aside or we go around each other or I hold the dog very short so it doesn't go to people (who already show fear before we meet). I see the signs!!! I always look where they are and what they say, and if it says that I must have it tied, I tie it; if the sign says the dog must not bathe, I won't bathe it either, until then, or like on the TNP sign in Ukanc at Lake Bohinj when you don't know exactly what the sign means (3 interpretations), then I follow my judgment. I pick up poop after my dog!!! Where it's necessary; it would be nice if beggars, grannies who take their grandkids from kindergarten and let them poop behind the first bush (in town) also cleaned up after them, that the same law applied to them. As I say, when you roe deer, chamois pick up your poop behind you (in mountains, on fields..., cows on pastures - does anyone pick up after them? you'll say that's a completely different poop??? Come on, don't be too smart and don't look only black and white, try to see colors too), then I will also pick up after my dog in those places! I will never claim that my dog won't bite (why does it have teeth and muzzle then), but I think there's less likelihood that my dog will bite than stray dogs, dogs chained at home...
Think a little before you start writing here and talking bad about us - dog owners; it's true and I completely agree that we must follow rules and regulations. For now, I do; if not (no one has forwarded me the rules in TNP yet, I read the TNP law and it doesn't say about prohibited bathing in ponds), please give me a link where it says what thing I'm currently breaking (not picking up poop in mountains, fields...) and if I read that it's legally required that I must do it, then I will follow it; until then, I won't. I think I'm one of the few who strive to follow the law (dog on leash when needed, dog training and socialization, picking up poop after my dog when necessary...)
By the way, if you're already "jerking off" here so much, why don't you report to the police what you observe??? Not picking up poop, dogs not on leashes... If the police respected the law and issued fines (not only when a bite happens) but also for not picking up poop, unleashed dog on public surface... the state would have huuuuge money; other owners would quickly buy leashes and bagsnasmeh

public area: town, park in town, sidewalk in town, road in village...

non-public area: meadow in middle of fields, fields, forest (here only the owner of the plot where I have my unleashed dog can chase me, police can't do anything here), for mountains I won't claim but I'll try to find info but for now I consider them non-public areas, if they are public then still not expecting a large number of people so they can't do anything to me again
dora14. 08. 2007 15:17:14
Suzana, does that mean I have to walk around the lake to find that sign. We bathed our dog in Ukanc (on that side of the lake where the hotel Zlatorog or whatever it's called now is) and where I bathed him there was no such sign on that side of the lake, and where paragliders land we never were.
Guest who wrote that dogs not on leash is by law offense, it's not true, offense is when you have dog unleashed in public place. On non-public surfaces I can have dog unleashed at will. I can have unleashed even on public place if not expected large number of people. I inquired about all this at VURS so don't lecture me.

The one who was without signature back then was me, because I wasn't registered yet, now I am. Nowhere in Bohinj have I noticed that dogs aren't allowed to swim in the lake. 1. there's no sign where a dog e.g. stands in water and the sign is crossed out, 2. that sign where a dog is drawn upwards (the sign is on TNP board) is so weird that you don't know what they want from you at all, whether you must have the dog on a leash or pick up droppings after your dog (the dog is in exactly that position when doing big business), now prove to me what exactly this sign means and explain to me how a person (e.g. foreigner) interprets such a sign, if I myself understood this sign in three meanings.nasmeh

My dog lives with me in the apartment and I respect the law that says I must clean up after my dog (on public areas I do, on fields, in mountains and forest I really don't intend to, since you don't clean up after yourself when you need to go somewhere), the dog is leashed where the law requires it, elsewhere I won't have it unless I think it's good to leash it (wildlife, cows, sheep, small children to whom he goes because they scream so loudly and thus attract the dog's attention)
No, we really won't go to Dobrča because there will be traffic jam on the road to Gorenjska, but we'll go somewhere else in the mountains. Why should we have to sleep at home in bed? Why not you? And then you wouldn't bother us when we walk in the mountains?
Like on 1000 forums always the same song, anyway we won't get together those who advocate having a dog and those who hate animals. As if the whole world is yours. Pity that not everything has to be your way and from now on out of principle I'll let the dog run free when anyone passes by and I won't call it back to me anymore and leash it for 10 seconds so you can pass. Lock yourselves in your apartment, there you'll have it as you want, without disturbing factors.
