Korošica was insured. Insurance payout received. Also the remaining necessary funds to get the new building under roof next year and close it are secured.

Okrešelj is also insured. But to what extent at the moment I don't know.

More information will take more time. For now no quick decision on the future of both huts.

First thanks for the donation for the renovation of the hut on Korošica. But I have to correct you on what was done regarding Korošica. Yes, probably not much to show. However, if you were on Korošica in the last two months, you could have noticed that the new hut is already staked out. On the ground there are orange marked stakes. They show the basic dimensions of the new building. At the same time, precise measurements were made for the implementation projects. Planned was also the demolition of wall remains, but in the end the decision prevailed to do it next year, because this year it wasn't economically justified. Machines need to be brought up and no way to leave them over winter on Korošica.
But the situation with Okrešelj has now turned everything upside down. Simply too early to say anything. Fact is, building both huts will be damn hard. I think the last thing the Matica Celje mountaineering association needs these days is mudslinging.... especially unjustified mudslinging. They are just an association and the entire construction committee consists of volunteers who do all the work voluntarily in their free time. Expecting something to be done overnight is utopia.

The hut is in the design/development phase. A conceptual design is shown, which can change in some parts. The conceptual display does not show technical solutions and at least in the flat roof area certainly does not show the final execution.

I don't have exact data on the floor plan size of the old hut. From what I read from the available documentation, the net floor area was around 330m2. The new hut has 508m2 in the presented design. The number of beds remains 80. The floor area increase is mainly due to a larger dining room (80 chairs), kitchen, accompanying storerooms and technical rooms.

Current project value estimate is 800,000 €. The price does not include logistics and helicopter transports.

Regarding the winter room. In the conceptual design phase we placed it in the hut at least four times and deleted it just as many. The last decision is that the winter room will be separate outside the hut. After completion of construction, we are considering converting a container or two already on location into a winter room. Let me add that the facility is being designed for operation every day of the year. The location itself is excellent for activities throughout the year. But it's up to us high-mountain visitors to show interest.

I attached a photo of the situation on Korošica from 14 days ago (31 March). Containers are in approximate locations. They still need to be placed on the already prepared point foundations. A wooden roof will be erected over all three under which one can sit in the shade or sheltered from rain.

T-SHIRTS – FUNDRAISING FOR KOCBEK HUT ON KOROŠICA
After the known disaster 20.10.2017 when our Kocbek hut on Korošica burned to the ground, we in the association decided to rebuild the hut.
The main architect of the hut will of course be money.
One form of fundraising is also the sale of souvenir t-shirts available at the association, Frischauf hut on Okrešelj, Orlov gnezdo and PZS.
T-shirt price is 15 €.

Last year quite some donated funds were collected and I will use the opportunity to thank on behalf of the association for all donations.

Construction plan.
It is necessary to understand that really nice weather at 1800 meters is rare. Half the year is taken by winter. The other half of the year is mostly changeable and really nice only two-three months. The construction speed will be accordingly quite slow compared to building in the valley.

The object design is such that most elements will be prepared in the valley. On site mainly assembly. Nevertheless, we plan to speak of two to three years before the new hut opens its doors to all visitors.

For this year 2019, the production of project documentation and obtaining the building permit is planned. If everything goes according to plan, works on the removal of the old object and preparation of foundations for the new hut will start this year.

In 2020: erection of the structure and completion of the external shell (closure) of the object.

In 2021: complete the works on installations and finalization.

In 2022, it is planned to complete the works on equipment and final finalization. If all goes according to plan, the opening is planned in this year.

Some time ago I promised to inform you about the progress of work on the new hut on Korosica. Again, more time has passed than I myself planned, but it must be understood that the design of the new hut on Korosica is quite a big bite for the investor Mountaineering Association Matica - Celje.
As of today, the project has literally gone public. It was presented at the assembly of the Alpine Association of Slovenia. It was the first public presentation and at the same time the first public information that the project has been approached with works on obtaining the building permit.
Let me emphasize that the basic wish of the investor Mountaineering Association Matica – Celje for the hut design is that the building will be self-sufficient, that will accept all high mountain visitors regardless of their idea of what a mountain hut should offer. It should also be ecologically neutral, meaning it won't return untreated waste to the environment.
The hut will be built at 1800 meters altitude. Just building at this height presents an exceptional engineering and logistical challenge.
It will be a self-sustaining facility. This means that it will generate electricity on site. With the help of solar panels and wind turbines. With drinking water there's more luck. 200 meters from the hut is a natural spring for which Mountaineering Association Matica – Celje has obtained water rights for use.
The design of the new hut is primarily based on the desire to utilize the location and design for solar energy use. Above the floor plan of the old hut it breaks and with its design enables solar energy use throughout the day. At the same time, right at this break, it represents a permanent reminder of the old hut that burned down.
The old hut will be represented in the floor identical to the old floor plan dimensions, which will extend across the terrace into the dining room interior. The floor will continue into the wall with the fireplace and this very wall will form the boundary between the sleeping and living area of the hut.

The containers were delivered to the fire site in December.
The helicopter's carrying capacity on warm summer days at 1800m altitude is too small for the weight of an empty container, so they waited for cooler days in winter.
This spring, when conditions allow, the emergency shelter from containers will be completed.

There was nothing wrong with the pictures. They were actually visualizations of the conceptual design of the new hut on Korosica.
The post was just a bit awkward or premature.
Nothing is official yet and so not suitable for public posting. It could be "all talk no action" too soon.
