Yesterday 28.12.2023 to Vrtača - Y up, left branch) SE gully down - from Ljubelj. From Ljubelj parking to Planinski dom na Zelenici less than an hour's walk on partly icy terrain. Not much snow but lots of ice, crampons recommended. To foot of Y east gully an hour's walk. Conditions in gully excellent. Altogether a good hour of good climbing up dry scree with intermediate ascent to Palec to Vrtača top. Gully iced. One ice jump. Track excellently done. Descent to Mala glava and down Left gully, upper part small rock jump. Mandatory gear: Helmet, ice axe (with two faster) and crampons! South slopes soften fast so descent over Mala glava not recommended.

Yesterday, 28.12.2023, to Begunjščica via Central Gully, exit is now routed right because just too little snow, descent via Šentanc, starting point: Ljubelj.
Not much snow, but lots of ice, so crampons recommended.
From Mountain Hut at Zelenica to Great Summit of Begunjščica good hour ascending Central Gully. Conditions excellent. Not much snow, but gully still filled. Two jumps in gully icy, but no major issues. Track excellently made (lots of steps…).
After ascent to Begunjska Vratača returned back and descended Šentanski Plaz. Not much snow here, but nice descent possible. Crampons, helmet and ice axe - mandatory gear. With two ice axes goes generally faster.
