On a nice Sunday we drive from Avasinisa along a narrow asphalt road towards the Cuel di Forcja saddle and park about 250m before; space for 6 to 8 cars. We head along the marked path towards Malga Cuar, past the remains, ruins of Stavoli Pala?. Higher up we choose the left track, unmarked, which later joins the marked path from the saddle upwards. Soon we reach the statue of Mary on top of Cuar, a few meters further also the bell. Views are beautiful! After a snack we descend towards the alpine pasture, but there we continue to Cuel dai Poz and further to Monte Flagjel. You can already see it from Cuar at the end of the ridge and right below the summit it has a huge metal cross. The path to it is unmarked, but the trail is easy to follow, there's even an old chain somewhere for a sense of security. In the rocks we admire clumps of auricula. We return along the marked path that starts at the pasture fence, where the trail to Flagjel begins. It takes you to Malga Cuar. We made a circular route, we returned past the junction where at the beginning we turned onto the "connecting" one between the two marked ones. Along the way we observed a pair of griffon vultures above Flagjel, beautiful!

I went from the village Dragovica to Jelenk on the marked path. Pleasant rocky summit, below it a logbox with stamp. On the side towards Kanalski vrh quite a steep drop. Rocks shaped into škarplje, interesting. Reachable in a good half hour. Along the way I picked wild garlic, pesto already made. It grows in one little valley below the summit. Well marked, signs on the path to all starting points: Morsko, Bate, Kanal, Kanalski vrh, Dragovica. Panoramic summit towards Krn and surroundings. Nice view also on the huge reservoir lake...

For my birthday I treat myself to a shorter hike on Banjšice plateau. From Lohke village at crossroads I go right down and on right by road spot marked stake with Sleme and Sedevčič path sign. Friendly owner of big farm on left lets me park right there on meadow. Otherwise big P a bit further on road right side by independence monument and bus stop there, probably Dom krajanov that house, behind playground...even vending machine for coffee, drinks and snacks they put! On cart track and a bit my way (no grass now to trample) to top Sleme 800m. From there straight on markers to transmitter. Meanwhile watch fox hunting! Over asphalt road again my way uphill and stumble on Zgorelec signs. Past hunter's blind on left on marked path to rocky top Zgorelec 876m. Great views to Julijci, especially Krn with neighbors...head on through woods to gravel road. Follow wooden signs and markers to Vetrnik. This one also rocky and viewy, Vetrnik 903m. Both have stamp and logbook. Go down to Podlešče village. Enough for today, walked 13km and 546m ascent. Later read on info board at dom krajanov whole path should take 3 hours. My guess short by two! Return and do the other side too, really pleasant wandering around there. Calm, wide views, met no walkers, only chatted with one cyclist...will take time next time and do full loop!
