I'm also one of similar "freezers". I tried boiled wool gloves (with thumb) - excellent. Compared to all ski gloves I've had so far, much warmer, even when wet. And as Francl said, over them protectors (though I needed them only on winter course when it rained, snowed all day..., otherwise boiled wool enough), then victorynasmeh
good luck!

I also have Planika boots, for summer hikes. The first ones I had for quite... ugh... a long time, recently they went into well-deserved retirement and I spent quite some time looking for new ones. Finally I found Planika ones in Vrhnika. Again excellent. For winter hikes definitely Boreal. Of course, as I wrote before, every foot fits something different and the best is to walk in different models for at least 20 minutes in the storerolling

I've been wearing Boreal boots for the second winter, they are excellent, warm, and they didn't blister me even after a few days of walking and easier climbing. Probably a lot depends on foot shape, the best is to try as many boots from different makers as possible, then you already see which ones fit your foot better ("pasejo") (these were like made for mine). Good luck.
