Hehe...first independent ascent on a two-thousander without parents' company my friend and I did about four or five months ago right on Grintovec. Specifically from Suhadolnik to Cojzova koča, then Grintovec, back to Cojzova koča for jota and then down to Kamniška Bistrica. Nice tour, wind blew hard, snow was of course only in some small hollows, only later clouds gathered on the summit. Lp P.S.: We're just 15 years old

Answer to Kuba & katjuša2: Parking fee is paid only down in Stara Fužina. Well yeah... if you go to the mountains so early or so late and the warden is still there when you return to the valley... it depends on the collector again. Now there are some young ones and they sometimes let you through, sometimes not... so far I haven't had problems on the way back and they've always let us pass when we were returning. Yeah the road is fixed... I can't complain about that because it's really nice... stones as they roll off, potholes from rain. But regarding the hiking trails from Blato towards Krstenica and Grintovica (that is those less trodden forest paths)... ouch... now they've felled some beeches and a spruce... but everything is fallen across the path and harder to pass. If the Bohinj folks clear it, then all is well and good, but if they leave that wood lying to rot... then we'll have to saw off parts of those trees as hikers to at least see the path.

Yeah, this toll really bothers me too... I like going to the mountains and higher areas of the Julian Alps a lot. What they did I think two years ago... collecting 20 euros per person in the car for one-way transport, come on Bohinj folks, that's really not of sound mind to charge enthusiastic hikers like that and spoil their trip even before they get out of the car... Otherwise we've been doing it for a while now, starting the hike very early and passing the toll collectors before they get there or when they're leaving... then we nicely sleep over at Pl. Grintovica and enjoy the clean air and peace. Sure, we need to protect the environment but then locals don't drive quads around the mountains either, so some other guy doesn't get caught by TNP guys with a quad in Stara Fužina.
