It's nice to see everyone philosophizing about reasons and situations contributing to accidents in the mountains. The nicest is to "mock" the mountain rescuer, as if he's doing self-promotion. On Friday the 12th at noon I was at the funeral of a friend who had an accident on Krn on the 7th. He was fun, never took risk as life's goal, climbed many things and skied many, but had an accident in still unexplained conditions (wind, slip...). Mountain rescuers, since there was no more help, enabled his return to the valley. I've been hiking in mountains for some years and it happens to everyone to misjudge conditions or terrain situation. Most get out without major problems, someone pays for all. I'd just ask that this forum be directed to providing data on conditions (that helps most those heading to mountains), because empty chatter about accident reasons doesn't help any of us. On this forum, what bothers me most is that you pushed out "triglavski" because he posted too many messages on mountain conditions and gave impression of "self-promoting". His detailed reports surely contributed to someone deciding correctly to do some tour or postpone to another date. (valid at least for me). Shame there's no more "self-promoters" on this forum.
Best regards.
