Regarding conditions on Begunjščica: Šentanski avalanche on top completely bare, same for descent gully. Climbed Ostržek's, highest jump almost completely bare, just a bit of ice and snow in cracks. Would almost be grateful for some protection...

Of course, I also have chain crampons and think they are great. For jumping around the car on snowy roads, for some winter walk on "dog paths", but not for the high mountains.
Whoever doesn't know the conditions on two-thousanders in winter shouldn't even try to understand what this is about...
Regarding grass...quality boots with Vibram sole, not chains...

Mentioning bills? Are the guys to blame if the army, PZS and the state can't agree among themselves who will pay for rescues? It's quite right to mention rescue bills. Better that people know what awaits them if they call GRS, whether they call or not is their judgment and whoever decides on such things based on price belongs on Šmarna gora, not in the high mountains, especially not in winter.

Regarding the "beating" of the female hikers: they themselves don't know how close to death they came, and it's only right that such behavior is strictly condemned.
Again, if someone thinks because of such posts they wouldn't ask for help, then such a person doesn't belong in the high mountains either.

And also, Juš's first post wasn't offensive or derogatory at all, it was just a clear warning to all who might be tempted by similar feats, a warning that we've seen and heard plenty of in Slovenia, but obviously they still don't work...
I fully understand his sharp reaction to the ungrateful and rude response, I probably would have said something like that earlier...

So, the point of the whole discussion: let's be aware that winter high mountains are not for everyone and that winter there usually lasts far into April and often into May...
