I'd just like to warn hikers - around 10 a.m. my dear and I started from Planika to the summit in the afternoon. We went up in sunshine, there were some clouds, fog, but the forecast for that day was without precipitation. About 10 min before the summit the weather changed in a flash - snow slush started falling, it blew strongly, thunder here and there, luckily not close... I figured it's smarter to wait in the tower or at Staničev dom than to linger on the ridge at that moment, which we did. After about an hour of clearing, when we no longer heard thunder we headed back to Planika. Luckily we were quite well equipped (alu foil, some food, drinks, flashlight, gsm, good clothes, helmet, protection etc.), but the descent was still a bit rushed and due to snow slush and slippery rocks a bit more risky... The experience less pleasant than if the weather was ideal... Experienced Triglav a bit differently, next time I won't go up without an air pressure gauge - but I have a suggestion - informing at nearby huts about current weather (except Kredarica), which in the internet age can't be a big problem. For illustration, on the way from Mali Triglav we met two more foreigners who went to the summit in shorts, even though we weren't fully dry yet and despite warnings about our experience. I don't want to nag, just warning how unpredictable the mountains are even if it's just our dear Triglav, which is very crowded at this time. Good luck!
P.S. Excellent rating for the staff at Planika, thanks for all the kindness!
