Description: 23-07-2006. (Filmed with Hitachi VM-E 565 LE Video Camera). FROM MY 2006 VIDEO ARCHIVE. Moiazza is a mountain of the Alps, belonging to the Agordian Dolomites. The highest peaks are Moiazza south and Cima delle Sasse (2878 m). If there is a 'superlative Ferrata' in the Dolomites, it is certainly the Costantini Ferrata. The difficulties of individual sections are higher than those of comparable ferratas. For this ferrata, in addition to good physical condition, alpinistic experience and complete rock climbing technique are required. Already at the beginning the Costantini Ferrata shows its class and demands commitment and attention. After overcoming a horizontal ledge and the first rock steps, it continues above a slope covered with scrub and between cliffs up to a large U-shaped col. Here suddenly the key point appears because you have to climb 10 m of overhanging wall, without footholds, with only the help of a rigid guide rope stretched diagonally. Only total commitment and arm muscle strength allow the feat to succeed. Uncertainty and long hesitations do not help to reach the nearby row of brackets above. The Costantini Ferrata was then considered the most difficult in the Dolomites. Alpinistic experience, endurance, strength and climbing technique are essential. Since 2010 it has been surpassed in difficulty by the 'Magnifici 4' ferrata which I will tackle soon! This one is considered much more difficult than Costantini!
