Description: Wednesday, November 22, 2017 – Another hike favored by good weather. Reaching Piazzatorre (Bg) in Val Brembana, we leave the car near the 'Palaghiaccio' and start climbing (8:15) along a steep tourist/forest road (no. 121) with many hairpin turns. Past the 'Rifugio Gremei', we reach a junction with antennas in front: there we take trail no. 119 which (almost backtracking) rises (snow-covered) to the 'Forcolino di Torcola' (m. 1856). Now the panorama opens onto the 'Val Brembana di Foppolo e Carona'. The trail (up and down) passes by the 'Cacciatori' and 'Baitelli' huts to reach the 'Casera di Monte Colle' with a rustic large wooden cross. Now the north peak of 'Pizzo Badile (m 2044) stands perpendicularly (though distant) above us. We head toward the 'Passo di Monte Colle' escorted by magnificent larches and somewhat hindered by abundant snow cover. From the 'Pass' (m 1938) only one hundred meters of elevation remain, but the route is for experts (EE) and the path is also snow-covered so we proceed by sight, with great care. Thus we happily reach the summit (12:10): a most panoramic peak right in the center of a circle of Orobic mountains.
