Description: Russia is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating countries in Europe. Its customs certainly differ greatly from the majority of nations on this continent, and during the Christmas season, they are no exception as they follow the Orthodox rite. They celebrate Christmas until January 7th. This is because the Orthodox Church continues to use the Julian calendar, which was in place before the October Revolution in 1917.
