21/5/17 From Rifugio Alpe Corte (1415 m) continue a few minutes to cross the stream and climb the opposite valley side. After a short stretch cross and follow the forest road leading to the junction with trail 244, to the Neel bassa huts (1565 m) and di mezzo (1614 m). Continue climbing through the Neel alpe pastures to Rifugio Lago Branchino and Lago Branchino (1784 m). Just beyond the lake at Passo Branchino (1821 m) and from there head south to a scree which is climbed to a notch (Bocchetta di Corna Piana - 2078 m) overlooking the Mandrone side. Descend briefly and continue until turning left to the visible Passo di Corna Piana (2130 m) eastwards, leaving trail 244 leading to Rifugio Capanna 2000. Reaching Passo di Corna Piana with a new climb, then descend to Valcanale, always on the left side of the valley, to the remains of the old lifts. Carefully following the marker flags in the meadows and then sparse woods, descend northwest to Baita GAN (1563 m - junction with trail 244).
