In 1202, an Ecchehardus von 'Lidimize' appears in documents, in 1203 a Heinrich von 'Libniz', and in 1294 Hugo von 'Lidbnitze' is mentioned. The lords of Liebnitz belonged to a Moravian noble family. However, the connections between Liebnitz and Buchenstein are not clarified.
