Description:
The castle was already first mentioned in documents in 1150.
The first castle lords named themselves after the castle. They were a ministerial family of the Babenbergs.
At the beginning of the 17th century, the small fortification had long lost its military significance, and since the castle no longer met the increased demands for comfort and convenience, it was abandoned and fell into ruin.
