From Fall | Lerchkogel (Karwendel)

In search of more solitary winter mountains: Lerchkogel in Karwendel, from Fall up the Dürrachtal. A rather infrequently visited ski tour, but not to be viewed from descent perspective, as the slopes available are limited, and the first 4 km on Dürrachtal road best by mountain bike (with really lots of snow of course on skis); currently in a short forest section must carry skis. - We went comfortably on foot up, conditions were very good (gaiters helpful, snowshoes not necessary). - The summit impresses with great views to the main peaks of Karwendel. - Who skied down this afternoon had nicely crusted snow.
