Description: Between two seas, one of Europe's most beautiful cycle tourist itineraries
The greenway of the Canal of the Two Seas consists of the Garonne Canal and the Canal du Midi. Construction of the canal began in the 16th century to link the Mediterranean with the Atlantic. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, requiring the construction of 63 locks, 126 bridges, 7 aqueducts, and 6 dams to make this feat possible, now frequented not only by sailboats and vacation boats “and floating homes” but also by cyclists from around the world.
