Description: The namesake of the viewpoint tower, Guckler Károly (1858-1923), was a renowned forester who earned merits in afforesting the Buda Mountains, especially the peaks of Hármashatár-hegy. Due to the capital's demand for firewood, the hillsides were almost completely deforested, so he planted low-demand pine forests that bound the soil, into which native species were then reintroduced.
