Starting point is Donnersbachwald at 960 m at the parking lot by the church. The ascent follows the toboggan run to Vordere Mörsbachhütte at 1300 m. From here, Gr. Bärneck is already visible at the end of the valley head. Continue a bit further along the toboggan run, then left to Hintere Mörsbachalm. From here begins the steeper terrain over open slopes to the foot of Gr. Bärneck. The safe ascent variant would now be left to the ridge and from there to the summit of Gr. Bärneck at 2071 m. We chose the right ascent variant over the steep summit flank directly to Kl. Bärneck at 2037 m. A wonderful panorama over the Wölzer Tauern with the majestic Hochwart and the mighty Knallstein rising before us. Looking down the entire route to Vordere Mörsbachalm builds anticipation for the descent. It's Sunday and we are the last at the summit and completely alone, POWDERING in half a meter of champagne powder to Hintere Mörsbachalm. Our cheers know no end. A true PUIVA delight! We swing loosely along the forest road to Vordere Mörsbachhütte and CARVE over the excellently groomed toboggan run to the road.
