La Gomera is after El Hierro the second smallest of the seven main islands of the Canary Archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. It belongs to the Spanish province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The island of La Gomera is about 1,300 kilometers from the Spanish mainland and 300 kilometers from the African mainland.
