Ascent to Ortles via the Meranesi route (Meranerweg) starting from Drei Brunnen (Tre Fontane, Solda). (18.08.2025).
We depart from Tre Fontane at 2:20 AM and climb in the dark to Rifugio Borletti. Shortly after, we take the Meranerweg and climb almost all of it in the dark. The elevation gain of this route (from the hut to the summit) is about 1700 m, not technically very difficult (also because it is well-equipped with cables, bolts with slings, and even a ladder), but physically demanding, little traveled, and with sometimes friable ground.
