Milies: Monte Zogo Ring

20-04-2022: Elevation gain 700 m Route length 14.600 km. From the center of Milies we continue on foot along the asphalt road until reaching Valpiana at a junction where the dirt section begins. At the junction continue left, if deciding to do the ring clockwise, along the houses of Val Piano on a trail without excessive slope. After passing this first dirt road section that cuts transversely eastward we end up at a first junction, now stay right following the sign for casera Vallina. Now continue for another short stretch until reaching another junction that left leads to casera Vallina while right leads to Monte Doc or Zogo. Proceed right, following trail 1005, indicated on signs as “su e so dal Doc”. From here the panorama also opens on the Feltrine peaks and Monte Tomatico. As we climb the forest thins until it ends in green pastures, up to the first malga, malga Doc de Fora. Proceed always along the ridge that rises to Monte Doc until reaching both manga Doc and the summit of Monte Zogo or Doc at 1394 m a.s.l. From here continue on the opposite side from which we climbed always following the mountain ridge down to “la Forcella” then return to Milies closing the ring on a forest road.
