Description:
Demanding mountain hike (T3) in Glarnerland from Elm to Martinsmad Hut (2002 m). Several sections are secured with chains. Trekking or hiking shoes are essential. Caution: The trail is not recommended in wet weather. A longer ascent leads from Elm through the Tschinglenschlucht gorge or take the cable car up to Tschinglenalp (my starting point) and hike from there to the hut. For the descent, I chose a different route (via Stäfeli). This is extremely steep, exposed, and endlessly long. – Further (mountain) hikes from Elm are possible, for example to Martinsloch or via Grischsattel to Flims (Graubünden). – Mapping material: Google Earth and Route Converter (Christian Pesch).
