Description: The Windegg cave near Ziegelbrücke (Switzerland) is a so-called overburden cave. It was formed by a large landslide of unknown time. The debris masses from Nagelfluh rock (gneiss) filled streams and gullies at the foot of the mountain. One can pass under the landslide material in the upper part over a length of about 80 meters, emerging back into the open at the lower end of the cave. The cave is not a place for people with claustrophobia and arachnophobia. It has several passages so narrow that one must crawl through lying down without a backpack.
