Description: Descent from the summit of Teide to Roques de García passing through Pico Viejo. Chain of some trails in the National Park that allow us to cross a chaotic and labyrinthine territory occupied by extensive lava flows, the malpaís. Through trail No. 9 we ascend to the summit, after retracing the path we take an excellent path, No. 12, which leads us to the Mirador de Pico Viejo. From the viewpoint, a new trail, No. 9, allows us to lose a lot of altitude through a territory that would be impassable without this path. We arrive at an extensive plain of yellow silts where we temporarily leave the trail to climb to the nearby summit of Pico Viejo. We retrace this last section again until we reach a crossroads. A sign indicates the start of trail No. 23, called Regatones Negros; this new trail is better for walking and allows us, after a long route, to reach Roques de García, an area that is already more crowded and accessible by road next to the National Parador.
