Description:
Piz Bernina is the only four-thousander of the Eastern Alps and the highest mountain of the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. The Swiss topographic map gives its height as 4049.1 m above sea level. Piz Bernina belongs, like its neighbors Piz Palü, Piz Roseg and Bellavista, to the Bernina group or simply the Bernina. Just 200 meters south of the summit runs the border between Italy and Switzerland.
