Description: Reykjadalur is roughly a 3 km long valley located north of the town of Hveragerði. Thanks to dozens of geothermal springs, constantly rising steam, and low elevation gain, hiking in the valley is among the most beautiful in Iceland. Most springs have warnings about dangerous boiling water. However, they all flow into the Reykjadalsá River, where they cool down. Its water has an ideal temperature and is often sought by tourists and locals for bathing. During the hike to the springs, visitors can also admire the Djúpagilsfoss waterfall at the bottom of a deep canyon.
