Description:
Hike to Creta di Mezzodì, 1806-meter peak of the Carnic Alps, to admire the sunset. It is located in Val d'Incarojo right in front of Monte Sernio, whose view from the summit is spectacular. Also clearly recognizable are Creta di Grauzaria, Chiavals, Amariana, the Canin and Jôf Fuart-Montasio groups, the Slovenian Julians, Tersadia, Creta di Aip, Cavallo di Pontebba, Zermula, Cuestalta, Coglians, Chianevate, Peralba, Creta Forata and the highest Dolomite elevations like Antelao. The hike starts from Stavoli Chiampeis, above Lovea taking CAI trail 146 towards Rifugio Monte Sernio (1419 m), reached after about one hour and twenty minutes. After a break I continued to reach the Sella di Mezzodì, and from here in a few minutes to the summit, on which stands an Italian flag. Hike of about 10 km and 1000 meters elevation gain.
