Description:
Ski touring trip and overnight stay at the Taschachhaus, a mountain hut located at an altitude of 2,434 metres in Pitztal, Tyrol. The departure point is in Mittelberg at the valley station of the Gletscherexpress cable car, which takes you to the Pitztaler Gletscher ski area. Follow a short stretch of slope until you reach the Taschach Alm. From here, cross the river via a bridge and continue along the valley on moderate path until you reach the materials cable car for the refuge. From here, the slope gradually increases until you reach your destination. The winter room is a small refuge in its own right and has a room with tables and a kitchen and three rooms (one on the ground floor and two on the first floor) with numerous beds. From the refuge, you can admire the Taschachferner, a glacier located north of the Wildspitze, the highest mountain in Tyrol at 3,768 metres. The tour is approximately 19 km long with an elevation gain of 730 metres.
