Description: Hidden in the beech forest and dense undergrowth lies the ruin of this castle built around the 12th century Already in the 15th century the castle was no longer needed, as Stallegg Castle had long ceased to meet the requirements of contemporary living culture. It had also long lost its strategic importance. Therefore, it was no longer inhabited and fell into decay. Around 1600 it was already referred to as a ruin. From the castle tower, with its nearly two-meter-thick walls, two large multi-story wall sections remain. The outer walls of hewn ashlar blocks and the intervening rubble stone infill masonry can be clearly seen.
