Black Star Canyon Falls is a classic California waterfall hike. But legend has it that not only can you scramble up and into the waterfall, you can climb all the way up the steep cliffs surrounding the falls to explore way beyond into the Cleveland National Forest. Of course, not only was the route beyond the falls sketchy, it was filled with lovely poison oak to top it all off, causing it to earn its very appropriate name - the 'Loop of Doom'.
