Description: The tour starts at the hiking parking lot in Austraße in Wahlbach. Clockwise, we go along a forest path by the babbling Buchheller, which accompanies us at first, and penetrate deeper into the forest. The path turns at right angles and we begin the ascent to the Trödelsteine. On the way, we encounter witnesses of ore mining in Buchhellertal: tunnel entrances and slag remains are relics from the mining era. The summit cross on the Trödelsteine greets us from afar. Once at the summit, good weather rewards us with a view into the green Siegerland. Of course, we sign the summit book. Then we dare the descent. Following the E1, which runs parallel to the Trödelsteinpfad for a few hundred meters, we become border crossers between Rhineland-Palatinate and NRW. We leave the long-distance trail and return to the starting point via narrow paths through mystical forests. On the way, we graze the juniper heath in the Saukaute nature reserve. Shortly before the end of the tour, a view opens up to the unique landscape between Rothaargebirge and Westerwald. Continuing over narrow paths that still require surefootedness, we arrive back in Wahlbach.
