Newsome was raised in Lake Louise, Alberta, and earned his stripes as a Whistler-based pro, then migrated back to the stacked peaks, unlimited touring, and deep snowfalls of the Canadian interior, where he started his guiding career at Cat Powder, his family’s Revelstoke-based cat-skiing operation.
