Another MTB tour from Valle Maira during our 10 MTB tours experience in July 2022. This tour is less a panorama tour but a loop with ascent through idyllic mountain villages like Saretto and Falcone, which however are rather ghostly, you meet only few people. Our highest point is S. Margherita a small mountain village with a church. We searched in vain for Rifugio Margherita, it seems to be above the church. But there is a fountain at the church. We took enough drinks and a snack. Further on gravel road to Colle Margherita. From here starts an S1 flowtrail pleasure. Without obstacles we surf on a forest trail past Mulino del Rio Albert, which we also didn't see. And reach the next isolated village Bedale. From here short on asphalt road past further small villages like Paglieres, Girardi, Serre then again on gravel road kilometer-long transition in light interval to Grangia, where on the beautiful meadow area you can finally enjoy a panorama to the opposite and end-of-valley mountains. We linger a moment and enjoy the peace. Now the 2nd trail section begins. Short downhill on asphalt then sharp right on initially overgrown trail, soon finest flowtrail, only at the end with few obstacles, after 4.7 km trail enjoyment we reach the Maira. Short uphill to the main road at Lottulo and 4 km back to starting point in San Damiano Macra.
