Verona | Mount BALDO (Rifugio Chierego) from Prada

Sempreverdi - March 30, 2016 - Monte Baldo. Although the hike was scheduled in Val Camonica, we changed due to bad weather from the west, looking for glimpses of sun to the east. But the great Veronese mountain was shrouded in thick fog. This limited the ascent to just 'Rifugio Chierego' (1911 m), with the planned trip to the Costabella summit (2053 m) also disturbed by wind. Arriving at Prada Alta - near the cable car parking - we used the pillars of this structure as a directional reference; and in two hours we reached the destination, quickly overcoming about 915 meters of elevation gain. On the return, a refreshment stop at 'Rifugio Turri' well sheltered from the wind. The excursion lasted 4 hours, beautiful and very cheerful in the company of Lega Montagna Uisp, by 1 pm we were already in Prada (fraction of San Zeno di Montagna).
