The highest peak of the White Carpathians mountains is Veľká Javorina 970 m a.s.l. located on the Slovak-Moravian border near Nové Mesto nad Váhom. Its wide flat summit is covered with meadows and "adorned" with a television and radio transmitter. Below the summit there are deciduous forests, mainly beech and maple forests. Veľká Javorina has also been declared a nature reserve, as rare plant and animal species are found here.
