Given that you've done quite a lot of via ferratas, I'd ask if you have any advice on gear (harness, via ferrata set) - in the sense of what yes, no and why or what to watch out for when buying?
Also, I'm interested if you've tried some more affordable set and it proved very good?

Soloing in alpinism has always meant climbing without a rope, i.e., without a partner. Among non-alpinists, there is often a mix of soloing and free soloing. On cables, it is always soloing. (Except maybe if someone runs out of strength.)

Colloquially, even in alpinism it's just called soloing, even when it's clear it's "free soloing". But on cables it sounds absolutely ridiculous!

primoza, SamoK is right here. Solo = climbing without a partner, free solo = soloing without protection. I won't get into combinations with technical/free climbing  Humar for example soloed Reticent Wall, but far from unprotected. Honnold soloed El Capitan many times, but used everything he found on the wall... until he decided for free solo ascent on Freerider. That one had a slightly different weight
EDIT: if we're totally honest, that link doesn't say climbing on "top rope", but with self-belay device. Actually it's lead climbing, protected with dedicated self-belaying devices (a la Soloist etc.).

Whether for progression you use cables/pegs/ladders...:
a) no -> free climbing
b) yes -> aid climbing

In this specific case using the word climbing isn't the most appropriate. Better to write about pulling (on cables). Whether free or not.

Primož, no matter how you turn it, even by you from E to 6a, in via ferratas it's usually still pulling on cables.

Ascending via ferratas and climbing have no common points except enjoyment. Gear too, except helmet and some quickdraw with nut, has nothing in common. It's true ferratas from D on aren't for everyone and require mileage if tackling harder difficulties. I'd say let everyone enjoy where they see themselves.

I believe we all wish Primož and his ones to enjoy via ferratas. And we like looking at posts too, though those "hairy" selfies aren't my cup of tea. Maybe for the fairer sex.
