Trail of the Seven Waterfalls - Buzet

15.5.2024 walked the Trail of Seven Waterfalls in Buzet Canyon. Beautiful places full of peace, lots of spring flowers, met only two hikers. Despite poor weather forecast it was very warm, a few small drops fell only in Vsi Kotli. Parked in front of the Istrian water supply, still free. The direction of walking is well marked all the time, which we found out quite later. Namely in several descriptions I saw that you need to follow blue-red markings, but now they are blue-white. Well, no problem, we experienced this part of Istria even more.

After finishing the trail we walked around the old part of Buzet.

The way to the starting points was quite extended for us because they are newly asphalting the road in the Mirna river valley, detour is arranged along the valley slopes. Therefore we got a wonderful view of Motovun, which we also drove past. nasmehnasmeh
View of Motovun, around which there are plenty of vineyards.1
Sign for the start of the path at Istrian water supply.2
View back to the old town core of Buzet, right the Favorit brewery.3
River Mirna from the footbridge, the walk beside it was accompanied by loud frog croaking, little water.4
Wheat fields before the entrance to the canyon.5
On this path we went into the forest, the actual entrance to the canyon is a few meters ahead. On this path we climbed above the canyon, where there are villages, fields, vineyards...6
Ruj in spring colors7
Lots of young oaks, but we didn't find any truffles :)8
View of the 3rd waterfall, Velo peć, at the end of the canyon. From the spot where you see it, the view down the climbing path is quite dizzying.9
Sign for Napoleonov most10
View from below, in the stream plenty of fragrant mint grows. Without the sign, one wouldn't even know that there is a bridge below.11

Was there yesterday...
There are no waterfalls, except the seventh Grjok, unfortunately, because there is no water...
But the trail is wonderful and I'll go there again this time in early summer when there's more water.
The trail starting point is at the Favorit brewery on the exit from Buzet towards Rijeka / Reka / Fiume where there's quite a large parking lot. The trail is well marked but the marks are not red-white but blue-white.
Starting point. Parking lot by Favorit brewery.1
Informative signs also help us.2
Markers are blue-white3
No waterfalls because there is no water...4
Fourth waterfall Mala Peč... the pool is here, no waterfall.5
The path is locally on the border between moderately difficult and difficult trails. Here a wire rope and pegs help us. The path is extremely secured.6
We will also be rewarded with exceptional views of Buzet.7
The seventh waterfall Grjok was the only one with water... but only a little...8
Chapel by the path9
Through this gorge we are back in Buzet10

Hello everyone.
We are going on this trail but we won't walk it all because we have a participant with health problems. Which part of the trail is the most beautiful? What shouldn't we miss? Thanks!

If you tackle the trail in the direction of the clock hands, then the last part of the trail. You'll probably return the same way back.
In the first part there is some ascent, also a via ferrata cable in between, which would probably be too demanding for someone with health problems I assume.
