Atoamac, first you'd have to provide a definition for "highest neighbor", which depends on the size of the neighborhood, right confused

I understood the question a bit differently than you wrote it with the formula, like this:

1) highest peak of Julians = Triglav
2) highest neighbor of Triglav outside Slovenia = Montaž (if we take Julians for neighborhood still)
3) Montaž's neighbor = Vrh Brda (first neighbor, Viš would be highest neighbor in Western Julians neighborhood, Triglav in entire Julians neighborhood, M.Everest in earthly neighborhood big grin

...)
4) so (by my understanding of neighborhood): 2*Montaž-Vrh Brda=Triglav smile

5) by your understanding I guess: 2*Viš-Montaž=Mali Jalovec smile

Vrh Brda, haven't internalized that yet - maybe I'll have to go up once. True, the idea was as you solved it under number 5, only for me - (also per M&M) Mali Kanin appeared as solution, which at 2571 is closest to the calculation result 2578.
But the one with Triglav is undoubtedly nicer wink

And you're right about the neighborhood definition too.

On the dew drops left on the needles in the background, with proper CIA technology (from Mission Impossible part 19) you can read the inscription on the back of the plaque too. It says: Ljubljančani, beware, dangerous shepherd!
