Is it perhaps the Ortler-Cevedale group in Italy?

No. But I'm standing in Italy.

Bernina group? Maybe Bernina peak?

No. Along the ridges that are in the clouds, runs the border with some other European country. I'm looking at a wall that all alpinists wanted a few years ago. Today it might be less relevant.

Ötztal Alps on the border of Italy and Austria. Weisskugel(3739m)?

No. There are higher mountains, there's quite a lot of glacier to the left. The border isn't right either. Italy and ?

Let me give a little hint. Same trick as in the previous riddle: well-known peak to everyone, but less "touristy" view.

Macesna, they've already listed all countries bordering Italy by land: CH, F, A, only SLO and San Marino left. Matterhorn

We haven't had the right combination of countries yet I'm standing in Italy looking at a mountain that's on the Italian-French border. Walter Bonatti was in love with this mountain.

Mont Blanc from the Courmayeur side?

it's already said that it's not France.

CarpeDiem wrote if this is in France. But no. It's in Italy. That the border with Fr goes over the top is a hint.

Another view from Courmayeur. In front of the church Notre Dame della Guerison. This church is full of votive pictures of alpinists. From in front of the church, on the other side, you see the entrance to the Mont Blanc tunnel from the Italian side.

VanSims, correct, bravo: Mont Blanc from Courmayeur side, above Val Veny. Red Pillar is visible, Bonatti climbed a route on one of them.
